Inhalt

Recent advances in Large Language Models and AI agents are changing how software systems can understand instructions, access information, use tools, and solve complex tasks with increasing autonomy. This course introduces the foundations and practical use of LLMs and LLM-based agent systems. Students will first learn the fundamentals of LLMs and prompt engineering. Then they will study the concepts of agentic LLM frameworks and more advanced techniques for LLM-based systems, including tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, context management, as well as evaluation, safety, and security of such systems. The course combines lectures with practical exercises in group work to build or evaluate an LLM-based application or agent system.

The course will be held in English.
